This is a new kind of illustrated book that seriously examines the mysterious world of the ninja, using such an impossible setting as a starting point.

The book is a new kind of imaginary illustrated book that seriously examines the mysterious world of the ninja. "Who are these ninja who cross moats and jump over walls, who disappear by making a mark and chanting a spell, and who transform into toads? (...) Supervisor: Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1967. Graduated from the Department of History, Faculty of Letters, Kyoto University, and completed the doctoral program in History and Anthropology at the University of Tsukuba. D. in History and Anthropology at the University of Tsukuba. Currently a professor at the Faculty of Humanities, Mie University. Specializes in medieval Japanese history. His major publications include "Dobosuru omoinrei" (The Overlapping Grudge) (Yoshikawa Kobunkan), "What is an Omoinrei?" (Chuokoron Shinsha), co-edited "Ninja Bungei Kenkyu Yomihon" (Ninja Literature Study Reader) (Kasama Shoin), supervised "Ninja no Shoin" (Ninja Textbook) (Kasama Shoin), etc.
