Abstract

Let's look into seeds which travel around the time and space!

The book investigates the seeds of 230 species which can be found at roadsides or parks. With the photographs of the original and the enlarged sizes, it explains how plants let their seeds travel though seeds themselves do not have the method to move. Beautiful iIllustrations show the mechanism of traveling seeds. The explanation about how plants increase their offsprings such as "Sprouts and nutrients" "The number of seeds" "The condition of sprouting" are covered at the end of the book.

Author’s Information

Taeko Tada is a lecturer of Rikkyo University, the University of Agriculture and Technology, and International Christian University. She is a Doctor of Science and specialized in plant ecology. She has written numerous books including field guides, picture books and so on. She has received M. Matsushita Academic Award and the Boranical Society of Japan Award.
