Abstract

Returning to his grandparents’ place, a mountain temple in the countryside, Yukio drains the pond on the property and encounters a white man who calls himself a mermaid. The man, "Uo-Taro”, was a strange creature that did not look like a mermaid neither a fish, but not even human. Yukio develops the ability to find strange stones which have the power to trap ghosts inside them, and is guided by the mysterious stones, Tengu, and mermaids to discover his own sealed memories and his grandparents' dark past.
