Author’s Information
She was born in Wakayama, Japan in 1972.She is a scholar of 18th century medical history and English literature and a professor of foreign languages at Sophia University. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Cambridge University and a Ph. D. from the University of Glasgow. She specializes in Romantic literature and the history of medicine. Her recent publications include "Planet of Care" (Kodansha), "Ethics of Care and Empowerment" (Kodansha), and "Bessatsu 100 Pun de Meicyo: Beyond the Pandemic" (co-authored, NHK Publishing).
