Born in Tokyo in 1962, he made her debut in 2002 with "Separation," and his 2003 novel "Ima Aini Yukimasu" was made into a movie and TV drama, and became a bestseller with a total of 1.4 million copies sold.
His other works include "Love Photograph - Another Story," "Sono Toki wa Kareniyoroshiku," and "Konnanimo Yasashii, Sekai no Owari Kata" (How to End the World, So Gentle), and so on.He is favored as one of Japan's leading standard-bearers of romance novels. In June 2016, he published his first new book, "Boku ga kaihatsu kyōdai sareta dakatta dekatta koto" (Asahi Shinsho), which is about a man with developmental disabilities.
