Born in Tokyo in 1979. He won the Japan Science Fiction Grand Prize for his debut novel, "Night on the Board" (2012). He won the Yukio Mishima Award for "The Garden of Kabul" (2017). Other works include "The Rest is Wild, Yamato Nadeshiko" (2017), and "Thus she speaks at the banquet　Meiji Aestheticist's Mystery Book" (2022).
