President of Takada Landscaping Design Office, a landscaping and design firm. He is also the Representative Director of the non-profit organization Earth Protector.
Through his work in landscape design that harnesses the local natural environment, Hiroomi Takada offers proposals for creating nature-rich living environments and urban development, both in Japan and abroad. Particularly after the Great East Japan Earthquake, he has been involved not only in garden design but also in environmental improvement in satoyama (village forests) and remote mountain areas, as well as guiding and educating on environmental regeneration in disaster-stricken areas using traditional techniques. One of his notable publications is "Soil Environment: The Forgotten Perspective of Symbiosis, Revival of Ancient Techniques" (published by Kenchiku Shiryo Kenkyusha).
