Abstract
A collection of works, including the full-color title work short manga, seven series of four-frame manga, and large-format illustrations. The title work is all 12 episodes telling the story of Neneko, a kappa girl, originally serialized in a childrenʼs magazine.
Neneko tore up some “Good Girl Grass” to weave a crown, and now she cannot return from the land to water realm unless she accumulates good deeds. Neneko makes friends with Izumi, an elementary school student, and struggles to perform “good
deeds.”
Author’s Information
Born in Hiroshima in 1968. Debuted in 1995 with “Street Corner Flower News.” Her “Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms” was released in 2004 and made into a movie in 2007. “In This Corner of the World” was released in 2007–09 and made into an animated movie in 2016. This movie attracted a great deal of attention, achieving
a long-run screening of over 1000 days with more than two million viewers. Other orks include “Ballpoint Kojiki,” a manga version of the Japanese classic “Kojiki” drawn using only ballpoint pens, and “Koujin Emaki”, a collection of illustrations used for Miyuki Miyabeʼs newspaper-serialized novel “Koujin.”
