Abstract
From the framework of Shakyamuni Buddha's theory of dependent origination, "When A exists, B exists," how was the Hua-Yen doctrine of "One in All, All in One" formed based on the Mahayana scripture "Flower Garland Sutra"? This book, written by a leading scholar of Huayan studies, introduces Huayan teachings, which stand alongside Tiantai in Chinese Buddhism, and delves into the true intellectual image of Fazang (643-712), who is often overvalued as a great achiever. It also proves that Huayan thought continues to flow like an underground stream in modern Japanese Buddhism.
