Abstract

"Meisho Zue" is a tourist guide book from the Edo period, around 18th to 19th century. This book compares the illustrations of famous places with current aerial photographs of the same places, gives you a sense of the historical changes and changes in the land, and deciphers the changes of the temples, shrines, and land. This book is perfect not only for history buffs, but also for geology enthusiasts and city walkers who are interested in the formation of land. This is a guide and history book where you can make unexpected discoveries, such as cityscapes that no longer exist or places that have not changed, by comparing them.
