Abstract

Mr. Kazuo Honma, who went blind at the age of five. He loved listening to book readings, and upon discovering braille, he resolved to spread the joy of reading to the blind. This story traces his turbulent life as he overcame the adversities of war and discrimination to establish the largest braille library in the country.
