Abstract

Delusional power is a source of energy for “solving challenges”!

There are many challenges in the world. Any company’s mission is to solve challenges, make profits, and keep on growing. But, think about it again. Why those challenges remain to be there unsolved in the first place?
There are many people in the world who are called experts. However, as even such excellent experts can’t achieve solution, they are carried forward over as challenges. Thinking this way, it is understood that simple expertise can not solve challenges in the world. Stronger power exceeding excellence, or perspectives and ideas that any experts have never imagined are breakthrough for such difficult challenges. I think that’s the power of delusion.
The good thing about delusion is that you can jump over limits of thinking. It is just like delusion can solve all the limits in the two-dimensional world by thinking three-dimensionally.
Bill Gates, a founder of Microsoft had delusion of “the world where there are computers on every desk and every home”, Sergey Brin, a founder of Google had delusion of “the world where individual persons instantly have access to any information”, and Elon Musk, a founder of PayPal had delusion of “the world where all financial services are collectively offered”. The world they fantasized has already been realized and the speed from this delusion to realization has been accelerated.
We already have sufficient technologies to realize delusions and will continue further development. We rather are lacking ideas of “wish it to be” that are the driving power to generate innovation, namely power of delusion. (Extracted from Chapter 1 The power of delusion changes the world)
