The tree that had been watching over the children at an elementary school in Hiroshima has been reincarnated into musical instruments and continues to sing.
The message of the tree travels across time and into the future, carried by children's singing voices.
Born and lives in Hiroshima author interviewed elementary school choirs, a pan flute workshop, an arborists, and atomic bomb survivors.
On the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, this long-awaited picture book has been released, based on a miraculous true story of children who inherited the wishes of the tree and became messengers of peace.

Author’s Information

Hiromi Suyama is a children's literature author. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture. Won the 20th Yukinomachi Fantasy Literature Award for Best Feature for ``Snow Wings.'' Won the 42nd Children's Literature Newcomer Award for ``Ohma ga Toki no Monogatari'' (Gakken). Member of the Japan Children's Writers Association. Her books include ``The Hidden Path of the Snow Lantern'', ``NANDAKKE the Ghost'' series (both published by Kokudosha), ``Easton the Baker'', ``Easton and the Spring Wind'', ``Easton and the Concert'' (published by Shuppan Works), and ``Baumkuchen and Hiroshima - The Story of the German prisoner of war Juchheim'' (Kumon Publishing), etc.

Born in Saitama Prefecture. Works on a wide range of works including children's books, fairy tales, illustrations, and bindings.
