Abstract
Tasuku, who attends a school for the visually impaired, is entering his first year of junior high school this spring. A new adventure is about to begin, but Tasuku is not happy. This is because Futaba, his friend from elementary school, no longer comes to school due to a certain incident.
In fact, Futaba finds herself unable to leave her house. The incident has made her realize there are people in this world who believe that blind people shouldn't walk outside alone.
Futaba's mother introduces her to an organization called the Banpo/Banso Club (which means “escort walker and runner”), and after observing the club's activities, she gradually begins to venture out into the outside world again.
In the meantime, in order to go see Futaba, Tasuku begins practicing with a white cane, which he is not good at...
This is a story about how the two blind friends overcome their fears and step out into the world again.
