Abstract

This is the “easiest-to-understand” introduction to the myths handed down to the present day as the Edda and the Sagas!

Norse mythology is a set of stories that vividly depicts the events and greatness of the many deities that were worshipped in the Norse countries about 2,000 years ago, including the main god Odin, Thor the god of thunder, Loki the god of good and evil, and Valkyrie the female warrior. The names of the gods may seem unfamiliar, but some of the days of the week, such as Tuesday, the day of Thule, the god of war; Wednesday, the day of Odin, the chief god; Thursday, the day of Thor, the god of thunder; and Friday, the day of Freya, the goddess of love and fertility, are all connected to each other. In fact, the gods of Norse mythology live on all around us.
