Author’s Information
Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1959. Professor of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Tokyo University of Science. Director of Space LABO, Kitakyushu Science Museum. Specializes in STEAM education, science education, and science communication. Author of many books and supervisions, including "New Illustrated Guide to Science" and "New Encyclopedia" (Jyuken Kenkyusha), and supervision of the "Detective Conan Experiment and Observation File Science Conan" series (Shogakukan). Appears on NHK Educational TV's "Basic Science" and "Chiko-chan ni Shikarareru!" / STEAM education expert. Learned piano using the Suzuki Method from the age of four, and as a kindergarten teacher, practices education that fosters musical interest. After working as a kindergarten principal, participated in the Future Classroom Project of the Tokyo University of Science Graduate School of Integrated Research "Future Classroom/Cybermedia Campus Discussion Group". Conducts on-site science experiment classes and research for children to students. Co-author of "Let's Get Started with STEAM Education" (Ohmsha) and "Fun for Parents and Children! 12 Months of Interesting Science Experiments (Mates Publishing). / Born in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture. After working as a nursery teacher, she became a writer. She has worked on a wide range of books, including picture books, fairy tales, and reading material. She won the Children's Literature Newcomer Award for Chico's Big Brother (Iwasaki Shoten), and the Hirosuke Fairy Tale Award and the Children's Pen Award "Fairy Tale Award" for Pencilbox to Sky (Bunken Publishing). Alongside writing, she is also actively involved in storytelling shows, child-rearing and school reading support, and more. She is a member of the Japan Children's Writers Association and the Japan Children's Literature Association. She is a member of the Asahi Broadcasting Corporation Television Program Council.
