Abstract
Shinjuro Tsukuba, a newspaper reporter who was banished from Tokyo due to the security ordinance issued and enforced in 1887, and Kohei Sakomaru, an aspiring lawyer from Osaka who is nicknamed "Komaru-san" for his constant losing streak. These two young men from the east and west of Osaka who should never have met, take on the mystery of a massacre that befell a pawnbroker family...
This is a spectacular grand mystery by the author of "The Omari Family Murder Case," winner of the Mystery Writers of Japan Award and the Honkaku Mystery Grand Prize, who respects the Meiji novels of the great Yamada Futaro and attempts to fuse a high-class mystery with a historical fantastical novel!
