Art historian. Professor at the International Research Center for Japanese Studies. Born in Kyoto in 1949. Completed the master's course at the Graduate School of Letters, Osaka University. He is the author of "Buson Ga Fu" (Mainichi Shimbun), "Yosoro Roudai Zu" and "Shunga no Mi-kata - 10 Points" (both published by Heibonsha), "Shunga no Naka no Kodomotachi" (Kawade Shobo Shinsha), and "Shunshin no Haru, Edo no Haru" (Bunshun Shinsho).

Andrew Gerstle
The scholar of early modern Japanese drama and a professor at the University of London. Born in the United States in 1951, he received his doctorate from Harvard University in 1980 and became a professor at SOAS, University of London in 1983. Specializes in early modern literature and the performing arts.
