Salaryman Masahito Onigiku had lost everything—his career, his lover—after being diagnosed with a heart disease, and he decided not to make anything important again.
However, one day, he encounters Rinko Shiramomo, a high school girl who suddenly confesses, "Please go out with me!"
Despite rejecting her confession multiple times, Rinko remains undeterred, her innocent and earnest nature slowly reigniting Onigiku's will to live.
Then, during one of their now-regular tea parties, Onigiku suffers a heart attack.
