Born in Fukui Prefecture, the birthplace of rice and sake, the oldest daughter of the 8th head of Yagoemon Tomoda, a family that has been in business for 1200 years. She worked for a food trading company and studied in France. Currently, with a career of over 30 years in the industry and a feminine sensibility, she plans and holds seminars and events related to sake and food, and provides consulting and training for professionals in the hotel, inn, food and beverage industry, sake retailers, and importers.
She is also the representative director of a general incorporated association, “Women's Association for Sake and Wine Lovers in Japan” (a.k.a. “SAKE Women's Association”). The “centripetal force of SAKE Women's Association” that attracts famous and prominent people, including the current Governor of Tokyo, is attracting attention. She has written more than 20 books on sake.
