Abstract

The cicada is one of the well-known in Japan, but unknown insects, as they stay most of their life under the ground.

Why are specific species of cicada, as a large brown cicada (ABURA-ZEMI) or Cryptotympana facialis (KUMA-ZEMI), found throughout most of the cities in Japan?
Where do they grow, what to eat?
Why do they make sounds so loud?
Another new question has been coming up over and over again.

The well-experienced photographer taking pictures of insects in a nature is challenging to find a life of the cicada to unveil, going to everywhere in Japan to find the cicada's wonder of making sounds loud with little bodies.

He has collected many cicada shells and living larva for observation of their eclosion in practice.
It is full of great pictures with surprise!
