Abstract
Based in Kyoto, Ueyakato Landscape Gardening has been in business for generations since the Edo period. They refer to all activities involved in cultivating the landscape of a garden, including care, maintenance, and nurturing, as "fostering." Introducing examples from Murin-an, Tairyu Sanso, and other gardens, the book invites readers into the vast and deep world of gardens.
Author’s Information
Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1966. President and CEO of Ueyakato Landscape Co., Ltd. and professor at the Kyoto University of Arts Graduate School. His major designs and garden designs include the Kurodani Kon'ei Komyo-ji Temple Shiun Garden (2014), Okazaki Villa (2015), and Sagano Sansho (2021).
