Abstract

Now more and more young women are attracted to moss these days in Japan. Moss exists on Earth from 400 million years ago and still draws attention with its allure. There are plenty of mysteries in the small body of moss. The book takes up many topics such as various species of moss, how to identify one species from the other, and manners to enjoy much of it, what tools do you need for observing moss, and how to use a loupe.

Mihoko Uzawa is a curator of the Ibaraki Nature Museum. She is specialized in sexuality and form of moss, and sudies its distribution within Ibaraki prefecture.
Fumihiko Arai is a photographer specialized in mushrooms and slime molds. He has published numerous books from may pullishers.
