Abstract
A word from the author: This book is a re-arrangement of a four-part program that was given as a special course for the VIDEO SALON webinar. The book was based on real-life examples and was designed to help people master DaVinci Resolve in one month. I usually shoot and edit videos as part of my job. I originally worked for a company that specialized in video editing, but I have been working as a freelancer for about 10 years. TV commercials, YouTube, Instagram, and other media have increased over the past 10 years, but since I started this job, my main genre of video has always been advertising and corporate videos. I am also a certified DaVinci Resolve trainer who teaches video editing. In the process, I have come to realize that there are points where many people tend to get stuck. In particular, many people seem to have trouble understanding how to proceed with editing. As long as the intended video is completed in the end, it doesn't matter how you do it the way you like, but I think it's difficult to proceed at first unless you have a certain "pattern." Therefore, this book is aimed at those who have already started editing with DaVinci Resolve, and introduces useful functions in line with the workflow, so that it can be used as a reference for those who have other jobs and editing is not their main job, or for those in completely different industries who are creating their own company's product PR or internal explanatory videos for work. I think the most important thing in video editing is "Does the video I created convey the intended message to the viewer?", so I spend a lot of time thinking about the composition and focus on points that minimize the time spent operating the editing software and searching for how to operate it. This book was written based on the paid version of DaVinci Resolve Studio 19, but the screens shown were ultimately created with DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 beta 3, and some of the features are also introduced.
