Abstract

On the planet Uptan, far away from Earth, Prince Rukkuru, the chosen next king, suddenly runs away from home one day! His destination is Earth. A search party of 14 members is formed to find the prince, but... The prince runs all over the world in a time machine that can travel freely from past to present, from East to West. He becomes an idol trainee in Korea, searches for a culprit in late 19th-century London, nearly becomes a mummified child in ancient Egypt, and is attacked by pirates in the Caribbean Sea! ?!?! Why did the prince escape? Will the party be able to catch him? This adventure story is packed with science fiction, history, mystery solving, and travelogue! Each story is short, making it perfect for morning reading. Furigana is provided for kanji learned by students in the third grade and above.

Hagiwara Yuka is from Osaka Prefecture. She made her debut in 2016 with "Friends in the Back" (PHP Institute), which won the 28th Hirosuke Children's Story Award. Her other works include "Newspaper Tabaa," "The Dream-Showing Tapir's Spell" (PHP Institute), and "Carnivorous Plant Jungle" (Bunken Publishing). She is a member of the Japan Children's Writers Association.
