The book is the first short story collection by Eisuke Aikawa, an up-and-coming writer known for his depictions of slightly strange yet heartwarming stories that leave readers with a refreshing aftertaste. It includes pieces acclaimed by critics both domestic and overseas, such as “The Day After Sunday”, winner of a Honorable Mention at the Bocchan Short Story Award, and “Hummingbird”, which was nominated for the Science Fiction and Fantasy Rosetta Award.

Author’s Information

Born in 1977, Eisuke Aikawa won the Bocchan Short Story Award Honorable Mention in 2013 and the Fukuoka City Literary Award for Best Novel in 2015. Among his works are Chasing the Golden Butterfly (Takeshobo), October without Hannah (Kawade Shobou Shinsha), A Moon Drifting Away from Clouds (Shoshi Kankanbou) and so on. 10 of his short science fiction pieces have been translated into English, with 1 into Chinese.
