Abstract
During summer vacation, Kenji and a little fox get lost in a village of monsters. This is the first picture book by popular illustrator Yoshida Seiji! During summer vacation, a young boy named Kenji meets a little fox at a shrine, and together they go on a little journey to find a "lost item." The book explores the village of Tono with illustrations of the curved house, Yanagi-o Inn, Unotori Shrine, Dendera Field, Mayohiga, and Tsuzukiishi, as well as the mysterious scenery of deep forests and streams. The illustrations also feature Tono's most famous monsters, such as zashiki-warashi, kappa, tengu, the mystical white deer, Oshirasama, and the hearth god, hiding in the pictures, providing plenty of fun searching for them. Will the little fox find his "lost item"? Read to: From age 4 Read by yourself: From the early elementary school years
