Abstract

This legendary book has finally been reborn.

Five million years from now, the Earth's environment has undergone drastic changes, and humans have also transformed.

This incredible vision of the future, born from extreme predictions, also includes a new preface by the author and a new afterword by the translator.

(Omitted)
Human society and civilization have turned this upside down. Rather than adapting to the environment, humans adapt the environment to themselves in order to adapt to themselves. Medicine has ensured that far more descendants survive than would naturally occur. And the human population has continued to grow throughout history. Projecting this into the future would shatter the imagination of anyone studying the natural process of evolution.
*1. This is a newly revised and re-edited version of the book of the same name originally published by Ohta Publishing in 1993.
*2. The 2025 reissue includes a new preface by the original author, Dougal, and a new afterword by the translator, Shirota.
*3. In this reprint, we have tried to restore the original 1993 edition as closely as possible, but at the discretion of the original author, Mr. Dougal, some content has been revised and deleted. We ask for your understanding.
