Abstract

This book covers generative AI from the basics to practical applications, packed with examples of success and failure in business and everyday life.
From convenient uses to risk management, it covers the latest trends, including RAG, open source LLM, AI agents, foundational models, and SLM.

Previously, AI applications required training, making them a high hurdle to implementation. However, general-purpose generative AI eliminates this requirement, making its use relatively easy. While ChatGPT is the most well-known, there are many different types of generative AI, and examples of their use are also introduced.

Examples of potential uses include:

• Early detection of legal risks and use as a reference for corporate activities
• Deriving report formats to reduce time spent on document creation
• Grouping and organizing survey results
• Generating catchphrase candidates.

This book covers not only the positive aspects, but also the negative aspects, such as "this cannot be done." It also includes numerous practical examples.

After graduating from the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Letters, University of Tokyo, he joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone. He engaged in research and development of AI technologies such as voice dialogue systems and text mining at NTT DATA Communications (now NTT DATA). Since 2017, he has led the planning of AI solutions and AI implementation consulting at NTT DATA INTELLILINK Corporation.
