Abstract

●Strategic stretching is necessary for growth.
This book clearly explains the logic and how to proceed. Overextension is venturing into new markets or new business systems, despite the knowledge that there are weaknesses in the company's current capability base (a stretching strategy that embarks on new ventures).

Every company has experienced overextension at a turning point in its growth. However, it seems that Japanese companies have become less willing to take on such challenges. Furthermore, they have even suppressed legitimate investment.

Now is the time for overextension. This book clearly explains how to proceed, using examples such as Toyota Motor Corporation, Yamato Transport, Amazon, Toshiba, Shin-Etsu Chemical, JSR, and Seiren.

This long-awaited book thoroughly explains the "creating a system to take on challenges" necessary for the revival of Japanese companies.
