Abstract
The revision of history has begun.
On the evening of January 20, 2025, Republican Donald Trump, re-elected as the 47th President of the United States, settled into the Oval Office of the White House for the first time in four years and casually wielded the immense power he now wields.
The return of a "tyrant" who distorts the rules of the international economy and security has plunged the world into chaos and eroded trust in America as a great power. Behind this is a massive centrifugal force dividing the entire United States. This book explores the true nature of what is driving this "cold civil war," which feels like two Americas within one country, through extensive on-site interviews with Trump supporters, anti-Trumpists, minorities, illegal immigrants, and more. This is a powerful reportage, meticulously compiled by a local correspondent, capturing the real voices that are rarely heard in Japan!
"What I have attempted to do with this book is to gather the voices of people who actually live in this country and share how they perceive the world, what they feel, how they think, and how they act. From this accumulation of information, I hope to increase the resolution of our understanding of the overall picture of America."
