Author’s Information
Taro Sasaki: President and CEO of Hacobu. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Keio University in 2000, he worked at Accenture and Hakuhodo Consulting before studying for an MBA at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduating in 2009, he worked at Booz & Company's Cleveland and Tokyo offices, and in business development at Louis Vuitton Japan. In 2011, he founded Glossybox Japan, which achieved monthly profitability within nine months of launch and full-year profitability in its first year (later acquired by iStyle). In 2013, he founded FRESCA, a food curation e-commerce and store. After witnessing the current state of inter-company logistics, he founded Hacobu in 2015 with the aim of revolutionizing logistics. He aims to build a new, sustainable logistics infrastructure. He is a father of four.
Kenji Sato, Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Hacobu, was appointed Managing Director of the Supply Chain Group at Accenture in 2008, where he led numerous supply chain reform projects. Since 2012, he has served as head of eCommerce SCM, replenishment, logistics and transportation, and BPR (company-wide structural reform) at Walmart Japan/Seiyu. As head of logistics at Walmart Japan/Seiyu, he promoted logistics innovation with leaders and partners in each country before joining Hacobu in 2019. He oversees the logistics digital transformation consulting service "Hacobu Strategy."
Kazuyuki Kobayashi, Hacobu Strategy Director, has been a leader in the transportation and logistics field, having worked as a consultant at Nomura Research Institute for 20 years. He provides comprehensive support, from strategy and planning to implementation, for the realization of sustainable logistics, including the development of government legal systems, logistics collaboration through private-sector collaboration, logistics system restructuring, operational reform, logistics digital transformation, and SCM reform. He will also serve as a part-time lecturer at Sophia University from 2022. Joined Hacobu in 2015.
