Author’s Information
Born in Yokohama in 1956. After graduating from the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 1980, he joined Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co., Ltd. (now Toshiba Corporation). He worked on the development and design of power electronics for social infrastructure, power generation, and transportation at the Fuchu Plant. In 2000, he became General Manager of the Power Electronics Department. In 2003, with the launch of Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (now TMEIC Corporation), he became Chief Engineer of the Power Electronics Systems Division. He subsequently served as Deputy General Manager and Director of the Division, and in 2016, he became Executive Vice President and Representative Director of the company. Through Toshiba and TMEIC, he promoted the development and business of power electronics products and systems for social infrastructure, power generation, and transportation. At TMEIC, he led the construction of power electronics factories in China, the United States, and India. He will serve as Chairman and Representative Director of Power Systems Corporation from January 2024. He also serves as a trustee of Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science. From May 2024 to May 2025, he served as the president of the Society of Electrical Engineers, Waseda University.
