"Meikon Ema" is a custom in which people dedicate votive tablets depicting a wedding ceremony with fictional characters to mourn those who died without a spouse. These tablets are drawn with the hopes of the bereaved family to pray for the deceased's peaceful repose and happiness in the afterlife, but there is one "taboo" that exists.
