Author’s Information

Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1978. Debuted in 2001 with "Hyouka," which won the Encouragement Prize at the 5th Kadokawa Gakuen Novel Awards. In 2011, "Oreta Ryukotsu" won the 64th Japan Mystery Writers Association Award, in 2014 with "Mangan" won the 27th Yamamoto Shugoro Prize, and in 2021 with "Kokurojo" won the 12th Yamada Futaro Prize, followed the following year by the 166th Naoki Prize and the 22nd Honkaku Mystery Award for the same work. In 2025, the "Shoshimin" series, beginning with "Shunki Gentei Ichigo Tart Jiken," won the 10th Yoshikawa Eiji Bunko Prize. Other works include "Sayonara Yousei," "Ou to Circus," "Incitemill," "Hon to Kagi no Kisetsu," "Kanenbutsu," and "Yonezawa-ya Shoten."
