Abstract

Do you like your true self? The author, who has low self-esteem and has always lived in competition with others, was taught a happy habit by Scandinavian people: "Allow yourself to be who you are. But how on earth did they do it? The clue came from the Danish word "hygge," which means "a comfortable time to relax and feel happy. To know more about someone. To laugh and have a good time with someone. To think that the reason we understand the feelings of the deaf is because they are there. To go for a walk and listen to the sound of the waves, hear the birds, and smell the trees. On the weekends, clean every place you can find until it's sparkling clean. This book introduces the HYGGE habits of the Scandinavian people through the events and words that led the author and her developmentally disabled daughter to change. No need to compete. No need to fight. No need to force yourself. This is the standard from now on and a way to love who you really are.
